
WCPS is pleased announce the availability of Varsity Tutors for use for all students and parents. Varsity Tutors is provided free through the Virginia Department of Education and offers access to several resources that can be helpful for them. These resources include: 24/7 on-demand chat tutoring for a wide range of courses; live group classes; on-demand essay review; self-study and practice problems; college and career readiness resources including SAT and ACT prep and practice; enrichment classes; adaptive assessments; and personalized learning plans.
Varsity Tutors is available for students to access through the students' SSO portal. The video linked below provides a general overview of the offerings provided through Varsity Tutors for your information.

Wednesday, December 6: Washington County VA Schools will operate on a regular schedule EXCEPT the Konnarock/Greencove/Taylor's Valley Community. This area will be on a TWO HOUR DELAY.

Kindness Tree: Students in Mrs. Owens' class hang an ornament with every act of kindness.

At the meeting last night, the @washcovaschools Board voted to close schools on March 5, 2024 to accommodate election officials as they administer the Presidential Primary. Not quite as exciting as a Snow Day, but still important information!


The 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Library classes read Balloons Over Broadway by Melissa Sweet, about the beginnings of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Students then worked in small groups to develop an idea for a character balloon! Ten of the classes were able to work on a final version of their parade balloons, and then Mrs. Williams edited it together so we could share our work with our families.
