Kindness Tree: Students in Mrs. Owens' class hang an ornament with every act of kindness.

At the meeting last night, the @washcovaschools Board voted to close schools on March 5, 2024 to accommodate election officials as they administer the Presidential Primary. Not quite as exciting as a Snow Day, but still important information!

The 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Library classes read Balloons Over Broadway by Melissa Sweet, about the beginnings of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Students then worked in small groups to develop an idea for a character balloon! Ten of the classes were able to work on a final version of their parade balloons, and then Mrs. Williams edited it together so we could share our work with our families. We hope you will enjoy our parade! Click the link to view the parade:

4th Grade students from Mrs. Brooks' homeroom class learning to square dance to the song " Turkey in the Straw" during music class.

In Library class, 1st and 2nd graders read How to Catch a Turkey, about a school that wants a turkey to be part of their school play. Then students worked with different building materials in STEM stations to come up with their own ideas for how to catch a turkey. They all showed off their excellent creativity and problem solving skills!
