WES Students Prepare for Creepy Crawlies!

Students seated in floor work on science project

With Halloween lurking in the air, Watauga Elementary School third graders were quick to prepare for all the creepy crawlies that just might make a hair raising appearance! These creative minds used pipe cleaners and string to design and build “Critter Catchers.” Each team collaborated on the design. They then had fifteen minutes to build the catcher. Finally, each catcher was tested to see how many critters were actually trapped inside. In the final step, the teams collaborated on revisions to the design based upon the findings. It was fun, seasonal, and all about STEM!
