WES Third Graders Are on a Roll!

Two students sit on a rug and work math problems

Halloween does not slow down the learning at Watauga Elementary! We just put on the costumes and keep going because that is how we roll! Third grade students spent Halloween rolling dice as they practiced multiplication facts with a friend. Students worked in cooperative pairs to create models and solve multiplication facts. They rolled a die to get the factors. Then, they drew arrays, equal groups, repeated addition, or number line models to determine the product. No doubt about it, it was a treat! There might have been a trick or two discussed along the way as well. Who says learning is not fun?
